Description
The new monitoring station is located in the residential area of Chalford and commisioned during April 2008, Chalford is a semi-rural village on the outskirts of Stroud, Gloucestershire.
The altitude of the monitoring station is 193.55 mtr above sea level.
The monitoring station includes instrumentation for the continuous measurement of ozone and oxides of nitrogen, both important air pollutants that under certain environmental conditions lead to the formulation of photochemical smog. Ozone levels can be much higher in rural areas than in urban areas, hence the establsihment of this monitoring station.
